"Mishkey Hakibbutzim" is the major commercial arm owned by the United Kibbutz
Movement and the "Cooperative Moshavim" in which the owners and the customers are
one and the same.
The associated partners in the organization are the kibbutzim of the "The United Kibbutz
Movement" and the "Kibbutz Hadati" . The partners are also customers of the "Mishkey
Hakibbutzim", as are companies, institutes and customers from the private sector.
The "Mishkey Hakibbutzim" organization was established as a purchasing company in
1948 in order to provide services for the young settlements scattered over the country.
The goal was to provide professional purchasing with extended credit while taking
advantage of the large purchasing capacity of the entire kibbutz movement.
Over the years, many changes occurred in the organization. These changes were a direct
result of changes in the kibbutz movement and our evolving consumer needs.
In 1997 the first "Mishkey" site was placed on the Web. We are still changing:

The Import Services
The "Toam Import-Export Agricultural Cooperative Association LTD" organization
which provides import-export services for the benefit of the industrial factories at the
Kibbutzim.
Insurance
"Mishkey Hakibbutzim"- Insurance Company" - which acts in two fields:
At the elementary field most of the activities are accomplished through "The Agricultural
Insurance". In the private domain they work interactively with other insurance
companies.
Motor Vehicles
Most of the vehicles purchased for the settlement sectors are purchased through the
Vehicle Department at "Mishkey Hatakam".
Lately, a leasing company was also established in order to assist in financing vehicles
purchased through the organization.
Raw Materials for the Industry
The raw materials for the plastic and the construction industry and other industrial fields
are centrally purchased by the organization for the kibbutz industrial factories.
Institutional purchasing
The purchasing organization handles different kinds of institutional purchasing including:
laundries, kitchens, electricity, gas, telephones, etc...
Private purchasing
In the organization there are departments that handle private purchasing including:
electronics, clothing, footwear, furniture, etc...
Tourism
In the tourism department we established the travel agency "Kanfei Meshek". The agency
acts in cooperation with the R&R department of the organization.
The Credit Card Club
An important component of the members purchasing in the kibbutz movement is the
"Credit Card Club" - This is a purchasing membership which was established, and is
managed and run by the organization.
Communication
Communications are a relatively new domain in the organizational activities.
This includes among other things the "Nesser" firm which provides professional
advisory consultant services for the kibbutzim.
The Internet department of the organization provides ISP Internet services as a
self-employed supplier.
Electronic Commerce
The organization intends to develop systems which will integrate the purchasing
organization with electronic commerce, B2C and B2B.
